SaveEcoBot is an independent public system that reports on the background radiation level in Ukraine. The information is collected automatically from various sources, including government monitoring systems, public sensors, commercial devices, and others. All data is published on the map without verification. However, these data require additional verification from government authorities for decision-making purposes. Therefore, if the readings on any station on our map increase, they cannot be the sole source of information about radiation levels.

It is important to remember that only government authorities have the right to declare emergencies or other extraordinary situations. Official sources such as the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate, the State Emergency Service, and national, and local authorities should communicate all further civil protection measures.

This layer shows the borders of the territories of Ukraine that are currently under temporary occupation by the russian federation. We receive the data from the open service Liveuamap, which updates the map of hostilities and controlled areas daily.

The displayed borders help to understand the current situation and correlate it with other data on the map—for example, with fires, wind directions or the state of the environment. This allows you to get a more complete picture of the risks and consequences of war for nature and people.

Please note that the lines on the map are approximate. The real situation on the front changes very quickly, and the control boundaries can change daily. Therefore, these data should be considered as analytical assessments, and not as official maps of government agencies.

The goal of this layer is to help users better understand how military events affect the environment and the spread of environmental threats, including fires or pollution.

The SaveEcoBot fire layer shows the current locations of possible fires in Ukraine over the past 24 hours. The data is obtained from the international FIRMS (Fire Information for Resource Management System) system, which is supported by NASA. MODIS and VIIRS satellites record infrared radiation from the Earth's surface, which allows you to detect areas with elevated temperatures characteristic of fire outbreaks.

On this layer, you see exactly these outbreaks, determined by satellite algorithms. The update occurs every hour, so the information is as fresh as possible. At the same time, it should be remembered that this is indicative data: the system can also record other sources of heat, such as the operation of factories, oil refinery flares, or burning in open areas. Therefore, each point should be considered as a signal for further verification, and not as confirmation of a large fire.

The fire layer helps you navigate where in Ukraine there are currently risks of ignition, how they spread in time and space. This is a useful tool for the public, journalists, environmentalists and anyone who monitors the state of the environment. Using the map, you get access to the most up-to-date open data on fires, collected and processed by international scientific institutions.

This layer shows the direction and strength of the wind at a height of 10 meters above the ground. The data comes from the NOAA NOMADS global system (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the United States). It is this level — “10 m above ground” — that is used in most meteorological models to assess the impact of wind on everyday life, the environment, and the spread of fires.

The information is updated every six hours. This makes it possible to monitor the current picture and predict in which direction smoke or fire may spread. The lines on the map show the movement of air masses: the thicker and more dynamic they are, the stronger the wind in this area.

Please note that the data has certain limitations: this is an atmospheric simulation, not a direct measurement. Therefore, the wind direction and strength may differ slightly from the actual conditions in a particular location.

The wind direction layer helps to better understand the situation in Ukraine and combine it with information about fires or air quality.
